2006 Search Engine Wars
A picture is worth a thousand words (see below). Google now accounts for 1 out of every 2 searches in the U.S (50% market share) while Yahoo makes up 22% and MSN has a meager 11% (reference). Microsoft and Yahoo don’t plan on taking this news lying down. MSN’s Mr. Ballmer (CEO) plans to spend 1.1 billion on search development in the next fiscal year(reference), and yahoo’s Mr. Horowitz is quoted as saying “the battle of this crucial sector is just getting started” (reference).
Who will win? Who knows and thats the exciting part. What are you thoughts on who will win and why?

I must believe in Yahoo in the fact that they are just beginning the fight… with the loyal following that they have for other services. Once they can get the online search and advertising down they would be able to offer more to consimers than the great GOOG! Oh and Microsoft having more money than the high almighty does not hurt their position either.
